Yorktown – Battlefield and Village

We visited Yorktown, per the recommendation of several people.

First stop, Felgars Creek for a quick swim.

Next stop was the Yorktown Battlefield. This is a self-driven tour to various stops along the way. Fred’s taken a liking to cannon poses.

Next stop was the Victory Monument. This was built to commemorate the siege and the American-French alliance. 

From the Victory Monument, we walked down into the village. We got some lunch and some Ben and Jerry’s to top that off. There was a bit of beach there, but it was crowded with beachgoers and a big ‘no dogs on the sand’ sign, so Fred was not able to get a swim in there.
