Fred and I took the Cross Sound Ferry from New London, CT to Orient Point, NY. Orient Point is the eastern most part of the “north fork” of Long Island.

We’re staying with Lew and Karen, as always. On our first day on Long Island, we got to go visit a friend with a pool… due to the vinyl liner, Fred had to do his toy chasing outside of the pool but he survived this turn of events.

Lew and I have spent some time making some updates to my RV. Pictures of all of that will be shared when it’s finished. We (Lew) made some updates to the bathroom, I put a new shelving unit in the closet, and we devised a better way to travel with Fred’s big crate. This in turn led to some required electrical changes for Lew to make and I think we’re both super happy with how it’s turning out.

Friday night I got to be the 6th participant in the regularly scheduled Game Night. We played HeartSwitch and 99. Fred spent the evening endearing himself to his new friends Michael and Diana, and managing not to freak out Phyllis, as she is not particularly comfortable with dogs.

Steve wanted to take me for a flight in his Cessna 170 and we decided to give Fred a chance too. All in all he did really well. There was a period of time when Fred went barking crazy and we struggled to get him to stop, but otherwise he hung out and even took a couple of naps. I’d do it again with him for sure!
