So mostly our RV’ing experiences have gone very well. But I had a bad experience at the Jellystone Park. Typically when I leave a campsite with the RV during my stay, I store my surge protector in the RV and leave the cord, water and sewer hoses behind, as well as leveling blocks and wheel chocks. And I leave a small traffic cone, which is sort of a sign that I’ll be returning.
Unfortunately, when I returned after 6 hours, I found that someone had stolen my power cord, leveling blocks and cone. My water hose and wheel chock remained in place. The campground management hadn’t picked it up, so assume it was stolen.
Because the power cord has special receptacles to plug into the RV, finding a replacement was difficult. Luckily I found an RV repair place with a used one 40 miles away so off we went to get it.
Lesson learned…. All power cords will be stowed when leaving now!
