Lake Estes sits on the outskirts of Estes Park, just before you get to the Visitors Center in town. It’s about 3.75 miles to walk all the way around it. The lake is open to fishing, boating and swimming. The trail around it is paved and used by walkers, runners and bikers. The lake area borders a golf course which is used for traditional and disc golf. The area includes a bird sanctuary and is home to many elk, who seem to enjoy the golf course. Fred was happy with a swim in the lake after walking the trail.
