Observations on Texas:

• campground people are nice and friendly
• Speed limit is 75 in the places where the road is most undesirable to drive on
• I-10 is 881 miles through Texas. I have driven 4 states previous to Texas (FL, AL, MS, LA), whose total # of miles only adds up to 779.  Texas is big!
