Next stop, Charlottesville.
The first day I went hiking with Lynne at a place called Grelen Nursery. This nursery allows hiking through its property – it’s really quite lovely. Plus, the climax may have been a pond! After the hike, Lynne took me on a tour of her area – old buildings, new buildings, huge properties, small ones… all very nice and there’s a lot of history to it all.
The next couple of nights after work we went to the downtown Charlottesville mall area and wound up in 2 good restaurants – Sal’s Caffe Italia and Miller’s Downtown. At Miller’s Downtown, I got a really good Reuben. The thing about the Reuben is that in the old days, it was made with russian dressing. Today it’s almost impossible to buy russian dressing – thousand island is an OK substitute by the relish isn’t really quite right, nor is the taste. But this place used homemade russian dressing and the Reuben was fabulous! BTW, for those who’ve been to downtown Charlottesville, the RV was able to fit in one of the paid parking lots without much problem!
Next stop Monticello…..
